RIP sweet cauliflower, rest in peace.

The garden should be filling me with lovingness and grace but alas i hate the mother fucking bunnies. I looked a picture of June last year and my bean plants where starting to take over. Alas they have failed now in three places and the reason is brown furry and a bastard.
Anywho, image heavy post and a happy ending, I swear.
Planters Before:

Planters now. Its a lot of squash action. I see little babies popping up but half fall off, at some point i may be throwing yellow squash and pumpkins at you.. you just wait.

Before Field of death

Current field of death.. The back wall should be fill with bean plants. I have a few more attempts planned with wonderful purchases of wild animal pee and fencing... The weeds grow in weekly so its hard to keep it fenced off, i need to pull those weed ya know.

Tomato plants are flourishing all over the yard. What is supposed to be cherry tomatoes are looking like golf tomatoes. I figure as long as they are waters well during our trip we'll return to a heaven of tomatoes.

I'm also getting in zuchs which were not successful last year so for that I should be happy and grateful. I have 3 other plants, only one looks like it may be fruitful at some point.

My sweet potatoes are planted in all my gardens but this one is finally taking off. I need to add more soil but its been a tad bit hot and buggy out.

The peppers are starting to take shape have tiny flowers on them.

The cucs are taking off... again, pending good watering i hope to come home to some massive cucs.

Alas my potatoes are having issues. They have some fungus amongus. This one isn't so bad....

Alas there have been some deaths. My cauliflower, graced upon me by friend B has rotted to the core. I removed it and found a nice family of slugs.. come on, baby slug is a little bit cute.

Beans, or pretending to be bean plants.

I also tried peas, edamame and beans here.. Do i need to repeat myself about the bunnies.

More tomatos

The best part is my fig tree. The tree needs a new pot. I have a gift certificate to bowood farms but i keep forgetting to go. I want to spoil myself and really get a nice piece of pottery but haven't so yet so i took my twig and root and put it in these teeny tiny pot. I knew I wanted to buy a fruit tree but I heard that it would just be decorative and bear no fruit. Bitches, please, I have a mother fucking fig....and it makes me a little ghetto. It should really make me more white trash cause its reminds me of car nuts. If you don't know what it is, google it....

High on cocaine, feeling no pain

thats a complete lie. I am so in pain, chest pain.. its okay, no heart attack here but i may have had too much caffeine.
Mr. Riley has been waking me up early as hell and work makes me tired so I decided last friday to have a 5 hr energy drink so I could stay up to 10 with my cool self. I get really pissed when I want to stay up but can't. Well tonight I didn't have one available so I had some crap I picked up from Sleven. The can said drink half a can the first time and don't drink more than one a day.. I laughed it off and drank 3/4s. Um stupid, not again. I'll stick with 5 hr energy and lots of water instead cause dude, my chest is beat fast, I felt nauseus earlier and I've also had a panic attack or two and I know its just the caffiene. The 5 hr energy drink I have no problems, I just stay up. I prefer it to sodas and coffee galore that don't really work for me.
I'm in midst of watching a horror movie that I almost turned off because the intro credits were in comic sans.. it really is a reason to not watch a movie. Its pure shit but I'm up and knitting and had even went out for a knit friend's b-day.
In other news my new computer showed up. Its charging and tomorrow I'll get Boo to hook me up with internet. Its a 15 inch screen and boy is it huge...Luckily its thinner than my last laptop so the weight evens out.. its definately no macbook size but for watch hulu, netflix and such I think I'll really enjoy its big size.
Off to continue my movie and hopefully come down from my high...caffiene high... hopefully I'm nearing the end of it and will go without pointless panic attacks of no real origin. As fun as it is for a friday night I think I'll pass next time.

It was the butcher, in the kitchen, with the salt

You know that kosher meat I've been complaining about, yeah, its the butcher's fault... We got new meat from http://www.goldenwestglatt.com/ with a 13 dollar shipping for 80 bucks worth of meat and we are in heaven. Boo has steak, i have hamburger that doesn't make me pucker and my time and energy is way worth 13 bucks. It comes presorted so that my 4 lbs of hamburger was in 4 separate containers which also saved me time, no need to divide up pounds of meat per usual. We are some very happy campers... I still need to get to the butcher cause we love bison but at least our ground beef problem is solved and these crazy people actually have sales.. imagine that...

Me and Sangria, maybe not the best combo

Year one of my home, after passover I make sangria, it sits for four weeks to be consumed on Memorial Day. (That was the recipes directions.) It was great and I enjoyed it and added to it all summer.
Year two. I try to make sangria, break bottle on front steps before I even get to prepare it, needs to be replaced obviously.
Year 3 I take crate and barrel glass pitcher out of refrigerator and the bottom breaks off... liquor and glass everywhere.
Year 4 (this year), I don't make sangria after Passover... after work stress and such I decide to a) make it b) not let it sit and ferment for a month. This year, I make it in plastic tea container with the little tap spout. It proceeds to leak into my veggie drawer. Not sure if its the spout or if it got knocked when the door shut on the fridge. Now its in a plastic tea/juice pitcher... Its soo classy. Not sure how it will taste as I tried other dark wine i had in the house instead of being patient and repurchasing another bottle of light crappo wine which is way more my taste.

They say every little bit helps

Green green green green green.. you hear it everywhere... Well my little green part today was to walk to pick up my dog from the groomers. Its 4 blocks away and I think anything less than a half mile away should be walked to, excluding things like buying food for 8 or purchasing and bringing home a washing machine.
This was Fruitloop's (ie Riley) first grooming ever. Its hot as balls out and I'm wearing black and jeans. Oh yeah, save the world and sweat my left nut off. I pick up Riley and he's pretty sure we are trying to kill him. First the eye surgery, next the grooming..what next, sky diving? Every car we passed he stopped at ready to jump up onto his seat... Nice try but our car is at home. He hates walks but doesn't mind the car. He likes hikes in nature but good lord the sidewalk is evil. A 3 minute walk turned into 20. We're home and he's stressed out of his mind which is a daily occurrence for him. I'm pretty sure the grooming was rated as bad as surgery but without the happy drugs and I'm perched in front of the fan at max speed trying to dry my sweaty pits and thighs.. Me and Riley, we're two sexy bitches today.

Donna

I'm having a hard time getting my head around some news we got this weekend. My favorite Vermont friend passed away. We didn't even know she was sick. Apparently she found out she had pancreatic cancer in January and passed away in March at the age of 49.
We would see her when we visit VT and usually share a lot of laughs. She was in an asian/caucasian marriage to a man from Doylestown, PA, a discovery I found out when I saw Tanner's bags in her craft area and asked about them. How odd to find bags from a store ten minutes away from my home in PA miles and miles away in Vermont.
When we'd visit there were often friendly gatherings. If I found out Donna wasn't attending I just rather stay at home in front of the fire. Probably my best memory of her will be driving 3 hours to Boston with Boo, Boo's aunt and another friend for dimsum and asian food shopping. We had so much fun and so many laughes and we never seemed to mind the squooshed pile of three folks in the backseat. She was such a bubbling pile of joy and humor and was part of the lucky group of soccer players friends... Parents versus the kids matches occured weekly, pot lucks, carpools, and general merriment were a year round activity. I have no idea how her 15 year old daughter is managing but I can only imagine its really rough. The kids and parents up in their town are very, very close, more so than any families i've ever seen before. She was exactly the kind of friend you wanted and kind of mom you wanted to be. Whenever we'd leave Vermont I'd say to Boo how I wish we had her in our town and not just get to see her once a year. A bit of glimmer has gone out in my favorite vermont town, I'll miss you Donna, our visits will not be the same without you there.
