I've had it up to here
...with my non pierced ears....I wear clips, since 9th grade which was like 15 years ago, the clips I've gotten lately hurt, so hell shouldn't I get them pieced. I can't seem to pinpoint when to do it, who to do it with etc. Its gotta be someone who says its no big deal, but can route me on and not wig out more than me because they know I'm nervous. Even posting this makes me a little queasy. My one coworker might be great but then again, he might think me a nut....more than he already does...

My ears were pierced over twenty years ago, and I have worn earrings in a decade. I had the deed done at a salon (the old southtown Famous, in fact). The first time I let them close, my mom's friend re-pierced me, and all I got was an infection.
I'll go with.
you can totally do it! i'd go with you if i were there.
It's really no big deal, it only hurts for a second. The bigger pain in the butt is the aftercare.
In lieu of an earring gun, I prefer going to an actual body piercer (I recommend Cheap Trx on Grand) where they use a needle that's hollowed out; it removes a tiny piece of skin as opposed to pushing skin out of the way to make room for the post.
I've had my ears pierced both ways and it seemed to heal better/faster when a needle was used.
I had mine done after college graduation. I'm a BIG BIG WHINY BABY when it comes to needles. You can ask any of my doctora. And it's really not that bad, I promise. I had a friend take (drag) me to the mall, I made them show me the gun thingie was sterile. And honestly, no pain. It feels like someone pinches your earlobe for a second.
Jeanette's right, you just need to keep up with the after care. I had no problems but I was obsessive about the cleaning.
I have to say, it's nice being able to wear dangly earrings! And finding and dealing with clips is both painful and annoying.
Dude, we're so going to Cheap Trx tomorrow night. I'll hold your hand and buy you gelato after :)
Suck it up, ya pansy. Reach up and pinch your ear as hard as you can. That's the worst it could possibly feel, and for a fraction of a second.
I see you did it!! Good for you!!!! I have 2 in one ear & 3 in the other...no biggie at all!!
